Non-Digital
I do some calligraphy just for fun, which has the side effect of making me very knowledgeable about typography. I can make some cool Christmas cards!
Gothic "A" Initial
This Gothic capital A is inspired by decorative initials found in manuscripts from the late Middle Ages. Each letter is composed of blocks of grouped strokes, decorated to varying degrees, often to the detriment of legibility. They first appeared in French manuscripts at the start of the fifteenth century.

Gothic Rotunda
This is from a card I made for some friends in the Gothic Rotunda script. This script developed in Italy from around the 12th - 14th centuries. I think it fits the holiday vibes and makes for good Christmas and New Years cards.

Gothic Cursive and Gothic Batarde
These are taken from some practice pages in my notebook before I make an actual card. "Jake" is in Gothic Cursive, a script used for documents in the 13th century. "Cooper" and "Frank" are in Gothic Batarde, an emerging and rapidly popularized script from the 13th to 15th centuries.

Gothic "L" Initial
This Gothic capital L is in the same style as the A above. Writing such a letter takes a lot of planning. The strokes on this one are a little messy, but the overal composition has the correct form.
